## What are the payment processing fees

Morgan AI uses Stripe to process card payments. Here's a clear breakdown of what you'll pay.

## Standard in-person fee (Tap to Pay)

**2.9% + $0.30 per transaction**

This applies to every card payment you accept using Tap to Pay or a payment link. The fee is automatically deducted before the payout is deposited to your bank account.

**Example**: If you charge $100, you receive $96.80 ($100 - $2.90 - $0.30).

## International cards

For cards issued outside Canada, an additional 1.5% fee applies. Most of your customers likely use Canadian-issued cards, so this fee will be rare for most service businesses.

## American Express

Amex transactions may have slightly higher processing fees depending on your account setup. Current rates are shown in the app under **Settings > Payments**.

## No monthly fees from Stripe

Stripe doesn't charge monthly fees, you only pay processing fees when you actually accept a payment.

## Morgan AI subscription fees

The Morgan AI Pro plan is $12/month, billed separately from payment processing fees. There is no transaction markup from Morgan AI on top of Stripe's rates. We don't take a cut of your payments.

## Does the fee change with volume?

For high-volume merchants, custom rates may be available through Stripe. Contact us at hello@trymorgan.ai if you're processing more than $50,000/month and we can discuss options.

## Where can I see my fees?

Every transaction in the Income tab shows the gross amount, the processing fee, and the net amount you received. You can also see a summary of fees paid in the **Reports** section.

## Recording payments as income

Morgan AI records the gross transaction amount as income in your reports (before fees). This matches how most accountants and tax authorities treat revenue. Fees are tracked separately as a business expense.
