How to connect your bank account
Connecting your bank account to Morgan AI lets you receive card payment payouts and, on Pro, reconcile your transactions automatically.
Before you start
To connect your bank account, you'll need:
- Your bank account number and institution number (found on a void cheque or in your online banking)
- To have completed identity verification in the app
Step-by-step
- 1Open Morgan AI and go to Settings > Payments > Payout Account
- 2Tap Add bank account
- 3Enter your bank account details:
- Institution number (3 digits, e.g. 003 for RBC)
- Transit number (5 digits)
- Account number
- 1Confirm your details and tap Save
Morgan AI uses Stripe to verify and store your bank information. Your account details are encrypted and never stored directly in the Morgan AI app.
How long does verification take?
Most bank accounts are verified instantly. In some cases, Stripe will send two small test deposits (under $1) to your bank account, which you'll need to confirm in the app. This typically takes 1-2 business days.
When do I get paid?
Once your bank account is connected and verified, payouts from card transactions are deposited on a standard 1-2 business day schedule. You can enable Instant Payouts in the app if you need same-day access to funds (a small fee applies).
Can I change my bank account?
Yes. Go to Settings > Payments > Payout Account and tap Change account. Note that changing your bank account may reset your payout schedule temporarily while the new account is verified.
My bank isn't being accepted
If your bank account details aren't being accepted, double-check your institution and transit numbers using a void cheque or by calling your bank. You can also contact us at hello@trymorgan.ai for help.
