Setting up Tap to Pay on your iPhone
Before you can accept card payments, you need to enable Tap to Pay in Morgan AI. This is a one-time setup that takes 2-5 minutes.
What you'll need
- iPhone XS or newer
- iOS 16 or later
- Your legal name and date of birth (for identity verification)
- A Social Insurance Number or business registration number
Steps to enable Tap to Pay
- 1Open Morgan AI and go to Settings > Payments
- 2Tap Enable Tap to Pay
- 3Review and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement
- 4Enter your personal details for identity verification:
- Legal name
- Date of birth
- Last 4 digits of your SIN (or full SIN if required)
- Home address
- 1Enter your business details (if applicable):
- Business name
- Business type (sole proprietor, incorporated, etc.)
- 1Add a bank account for payouts
- 2Tap Submit
Stripe will review your application. In most cases, this is approved instantly. Some accounts may take up to 24 hours for additional review.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
Identity verification is required by financial regulations for anyone who processes card payments. Morgan AI uses Stripe for payment processing, and Stripe is required to know who is accepting payments on their platform.
Your information is kept secure and is only used for regulatory compliance purposes.
Troubleshooting
My application is stuck on "pending": Contact us at hello@trymorgan.ai with your account email and we'll check the status with Stripe.
I got an error during verification: Make sure your name, date of birth, and address match your government-issued ID exactly. Typos or abbreviations can cause verification failures.
Tap to Pay isn't showing up in my app: Make sure you're running iOS 16 or later and have a compatible iPhone (XS or newer). See the supported iPhone models article for the full list.
